Somewhere along the way, software stopped being something you own and became something you rent. Twelve seats. Eleven dashboards. Ten renewal emails for tools you open twice a month.

Meanwhile, the sharpest operators we know quietly built their own: a reporting tool that does exactly what the Monday call needs, a P&L model that would make a CFO blush, a creative-testing pipeline held together by taste and a cron job. Not products. Tools. Built for the work, by people doing the work.

Unmetered is a marketplace for exactly that software. Vetted operators sell the tools they already run. You buy once and get the entire codebase: licensed to your org, delivered in minutes, yours to modify and run forever. No seats. No renewal call. No roadmap to wait on.

Every tool is reviewed before it lists: we run it, scan it, and freeze the exact version you buy. When its creator ships an update, every owner gets it. If it doesn’t run as described, we make it right.

This isn’t open source, and it isn’t SaaS. It’s the third thing: software you own, from people you’d pay just to think about your problem.

We’re opening one vertical at a time, starting with the tools marketing agencies actually run. If that’s you, get on the list. If you’ve built something the rest of us should be running, even better. Founding creators keep 100% of their first $100K.

P.S. Yes, the name is a placeholder. Naming is hard; shipping isn’t.

How it works

01

Find the tool

A curated shelf, not an app store. Every listing is vetted, demoed, and reviewed before it goes live.

02

Buy it once

One price at checkout. A license to your organization. Not a seat, not a subscription, not a renewal call.

03

Run it in minutes

Full source in your hands, with install docs and a copy-paste Claude Code prompt. Clone to live before the coffee cools.

Updates included: when the creator ships v1.1, every owner hears about it first. And if a tool doesn’t run as described, we make it right.

Curated, not crowded

Sellers apply. Most don't get in. Every tool on the shelf earned the spot.

Reviewed, then frozen

We run and scan every version. You get the exact bytes we reviewed, nothing swapped after.

Owned, not rented

Perpetual, single-org license. Read it, modify it, run it forever.

Priced like a tool

Pay once for the thing, not forever for permission to keep using it.

You already built it. Now sell it.

Your repo saves your team ten hours a week, and your DMs are full of people asking for it. List it once: we handle checkout, licensing, delivery, updates, taxes, and the awkward money conversations. You get a new revenue line with zero marginal cost: copy #1,000 takes the same effort as copy #1.

Applications reviewed by humans. Curation is the product.

Invite-only while we seed the shelf.

We review every tool and every creator, so we onboard in waves. Marketing agencies get the first one. One email when yours opens; no drip campaign, promise.

Fair questions

Is this open source?

No. Everything listed is licensed, closed software. You get the full source to run and modify inside your organization, not to redistribute.

What exactly do I get when I buy?

The complete codebase for the exact reviewed version, a license key, install docs, and future updates from the creator, announced to every owner.

Do I need to be technical?

If you can paste a prompt into Claude Code, you can run these tools. Every listing ships with instructions your least technical teammate can follow.

When do I get in?

We onboard in waves while the first shelf is seeded — marketing agencies first, because that's the vertical we're opening with. One email when your wave is up.

What if a tool doesn't work?

Every version is run and reviewed before it lists. If it doesn't run as described, support makes it right.

Can I resell something I bought?

No. The license is single-organization, and every download is fingerprinted. Sell your own tools instead; the margins are better.
